Didriksons, founded in 1913 by Hanna and Julius Didrikson, is considered a pioneer in the production of functional outdoor clothing. What began as a small, inconspicuous workshop in Grundsund has developed over more than a century into one of the leading brands for weatherproof jackets in Scandinavia. Hanna, a fisherman's daughter, and Julius, an innovative inventor, created waterproof clothing at that time to improve the safety of fishermen in the harsh conditions of Swedish waters.
Their vision to keep people dry in any weather remains at the heart of Didriksons to this day. The company stays true to its philosophy: instead of challenging the elements, they adapt to them. This commitment to functional clothing is reflected in the continuous development of products, characterized by the use of innovative materials and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.

At BACKYARD, we carry a selection of Didriksons summer jackets, transitional jackets, and winter jackets for women and men, which not only protect against cold and precipitation but also guarantee comfort and freedom of movement through their fit. The jackets are available in regular fit and impress with timeless, solid-colored designs. 
The company primarily relies on synthetic fibers, which are a sustainable alternative to conventional cotton. These materials are less water and resource-intensive while offering high wear resistance. 
The production takes place both in Asia and Europe, with Didriksons relying on carefully selected production sites that meet their high standards for working conditions. 

SUSTAINABILITY MEETS DURABILITY

Didriksons Philosophy means longevity. Therefore, in their product development, they focus not only on timeless designs and carefully selected colors but also on lasting relationships with customers and manufacturers. 
Since 2015, "Solution Dye" has been used, an innovative dyeing technique that significantly reduces water, energy, and chemical consumption. Animal materials, such as fur or leather, are completely avoided.
