Elvine was founded in 2001 by the Swedish street artist Daniel Mänd, inspired by the working-class culture and the changing weather of his hometown Gothenburg. The label is named after his grandmother Elvine Mänd, a talented seamstress who came to Sweden from Estonia. Her passion for craftsmanship and quality is still reflected in every Elvine collection today.
The company believes that the greatest contribution of the fashion industry to a sustainable future is to produce clothing that does not need to be replaced every season. For this reason, Elvine designs jackets that are durable and long-lasting. Customers wear their Elvine jacket year after year – and that is part of the brand philosophy.

At BACKYARD, you will find a versatile selection of Elvine jackets for men and women, ideal for both summer and winter. The summer jackets, transitional jackets, and winter jackets from Elvine impress with their simple yet elegant design and timeless colors. The fit provides additional comfort in everyday life. Elvine also focuses on innovative materials to minimize their ecological footprint. Most of the jackets are equipped with Thermomore® padding, which is predominantly made from recycled materials. Particularly noteworthy is the use of Thermore® Ecodown, a sustainable alternative to down, made from 100% recycled PET bottles. This makes the jackets not only environmentally friendly but also ensures they keep you warm in cold weather. Elvine's jackets are produced in collaboration with carefully selected suppliers in China.

RESPECT FOR PEOPLE, ENVIRONMENT, AND SOCIETY

For Elvine, sustainability means respect for people, the environment, and society. Elvine relies on the use of a water-repellent coating without highly fluorinated chemicals (PFAS), which would be harmful to people and the environment. Additionally, Elvine has completely stopped using PVS.
To continuously reduce its negative impact on the planet, the company works with external experts in environmental and corporate responsibility. Through careful analysis of processes, Elvine has set priorities to make the greatest difference where possible. Some changes have already been fully implemented, while others require long-term efforts. Transparency and continuous improvement are the focus.
