Twothirds was founded in 2010 by surf enthusiasts and has since been dedicated to changing the fashion industry. The roots of the brand lie in Barcelona, a city known for its creativity and proximity to the sea. The founder Lutz Schwenke, influenced by his time in Hawaii and his work at the United Nations, developed a vision inspired by the beauty and fragility of the ocean. The close connection to the sea is also evident in the brand name ‒ Two-thirds of our planet is covered with water. 
Twothirds focuses on the use of environmentally friendly materials and always grows in harmony with nature.

TWOTHIRDS AT BACKYARD 

BACKYARD offers a diverse selection of Twothirds products for men and women, including both clothing and accessories. The product range includes tops such as long-sleeve shirts, knit sweaters, sweatshirts, pullovers, and T-shirts and long sleeves (long-sleeve shirts) as well as pants, including jogger pants made of corduroy and cotton and overalls. The range is complemented by a selection of cozy beanies.
The color palette of our range extends from timeless shades like beige, gray, black, and white to vibrant accents in blue, brown, green, yellow, and red. The label relies on a mix of simple, monochrome models, striped patterns, and items with the characteristic nep pattern for the designs. The fit of the products is primarily in regular fit, ensuring a comfortable, everyday look.
Regional production is a central aspect of the Twothirds supply chain. All stages of production take place in Europe, mainly in Portugal, France, or Italy. Some raw materials also have European origins.

Twothirds is B-Corp ™ certified, which underscores their commitment to ethical and ecological standards. The brand is well above average and proves that sustainable fashion and responsible action are the focus.
An innovative component of their sustainability strategy is the pre-order system. It reduces overproduction and saves resources.
Additionally, Twothirds uses almost exclusively environmentally friendly  materials such as organic cotton, merino wool, and recycled materials.
