Since its founding in 1991, Cleptomanicx has shaped the German streetwear scene. Originally inspired by the urban culture of Hamburg and a passion for skating, the brand aims to create clothing that is both robust enough to withstand the Nordic weather and brings joy through creative design.
The Ligull Basics collection, for example, was launched in 2009 and forms the heart of the Cleptomanicx range. Originally started as a small collection, it now includes a variety of products in different fits and colors. The small, expressive logos emphasize the graphic identity of Cleptomanicx.

The selection of Cleptomanicx products at BACKYARD mainly focuses on items from the Ligull Basic collection by Cleptomanicx. The T-shirts and sweatshirts of the collection impress with sustainable materials, timeless designs, and their comfortable fit.
In addition, the accessories range from Cleptomanicx includes practical and sometimes colorful items, such as socks, beanies, hip bags, bucket hats, and underwear. 
Most products feature the minimalist seagull embroidery – the trademark of Cleptomanicx.
Particularly noteworthy is the durable quality of Cleptomanicx clothing, which is based on top-notch textile production in Portugal. The expertise in production ensures that Cleptomanicx garments retain their shape and color even after countless washes.

TRANSPARENT PRODUCTION IN PORTUGAL  

Cleptomanicx is aware of its responsibility as a clothing brand and strives to act sustainably on as many levels as possible.
About two-thirds of the products are manufactured in Braga – a city in the north of Portugal – known for its high manufacturing quality and committed partners. Cleptomanicx has always relied on solid cooperation partners, ensuring not only excellent product quality but also fair working conditions for all involved.
The close contact with the producers allows Cleptomanicx to closely monitor the chemicals used in production and choose environmentally friendly alternatives. The brand works with a Restricted Substances List (RSL) to identify and replace hazardous chemicals, meeting requirements far beyond the REACH standard. 
The proximity to the production sites in Europe has further advantages: The entire production, from organic cotton to the finished garment, takes place within a radius of only 20 kilometers. This close linkage of production steps minimizes the ecological footprint and enables transparent and efficient production. The employees in the sewing factories receive fair wages and work under transparent conditions.
